Our Story
Conifer Infrastructure Partners is a platform that simultaneously builds and invests in energy and critical materials companies on behalf of its investors. Conifer companies are selected because they are uniquely positioned to support the energy transition, have predictable business models, and use proven technologies.
Because we are both builders and investors, we actively search for and grow companies that we have defined as high-return uses of capital. We hold ourselves to the highest standard of scrutiny in our selection and capital allocation process.
The team we’ve created and the experience we’ve deployed are built upon the many lessons learned and successes achieved well before Conifer Infrastructure Fund was founded in 2023.
Our Roots
Nick Stork is the Founder and Managing Partner of Conifer Infrastructure Partners LP. Prior to Conifer, Nick founded Archaea Energy in 2017 and served as the company’s CEO since its inception through the sale to BP in 2022 for $4.1 Billion. Nick grew Archaea from concept to the largest renewable natural gas producer (RNG) in the world listed on the NYSE (LFG). At the time of sale, Archaea had 50 operating plants across the Country, nearly 600 employees and 30 projects in construction.
Prior to Archaea, Nick was the co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of Noble Environmental, Inc., an industry-leading waste and environmental services company, where he continues to serve as a Chairman of the Board of Directors. Noble is one of the largest waste and environmental services providers in Southwest Pennsylvania. Noble has grown EBITDA by over 30x since inception without equity dilution to original investors.
Nick also served as a Principal with Baleen Capital Management, a global value investment firm led by Fang Li. He also worked in corporate finance and development at Three Rivers Natural Resources led by Mike Wichterich. Nick is a proud graduate of Dartmouth College.
